In more recent years we have experienced an increase in wildfires along the state of California. As we continue to see these grow I can’t help but think about preparedness for such situation. The CDC website has a list of precautionary steps to take in case of a wildfire to assure we are ready. Knowing our risks, steps to take to be informed, preparing your home and most importantly making a wildfire plan. One of the most important factors is having an evacuation plan without panicking. I also was not aware that cleaning the roofs and gutters was important, as well as restocking an emergency preparedness kits we sometimes forget that things expire and need to be replaced more often than we think. The Disaster Healthcare Volunteers Site shows their location and it happens to be an hour away from my home in Rancho Cordova. I'm glad to know and find there is a disaster volunteer site around my area in case of an emergency related to a disaster.
