3.3 Environmental Justice Blog
Its very saddening to read all the stories about “environmental racism” and lack of importance African- American communities receive. It was not until now reading these stories that i realize how much this truly connects to the “Black Lives Matter” movement going on still today. As the article “2016 and beyond: justice jumping genres” mentions, although the laws have not passed yet they have changed the conversation. In other words, they change the topic per say to focus peoples attention to something else that is irrelevant. In this case, they turn away the attention from the amount of environmental racism African-Americans are receiving by building toxic waste sites around their communities affecting every aspect of their lives such as air and water. It is cruel and only because they live below the poverty lines.
