3.2 Vulnerable Populations
I was surprised while reading and watching the videos, we never focus or think about the chemicals we are being exposed to. Although we see the significant rise of diabetes in connection with obesity, we never connect how chemical exposures and our nutrition connect to one another. Normally, we find people are consuming larger amounts of fast food because it may be the most cost efficient and its fast. But we also find more and more people spending their time watching TV and staying indoors spending most of the time with a sedentary lifestyle eating these low cost foods. I feel that most foods that make us sick have been chemically processed one way or another causing some of the diabetes epidemic. I do believe that there are many different ways to reduce exposure but just as limiting sedentary lifestyles, it may be difficult to do.
