Home Environmental Health Home Assessment

M 1.5 By completing my individual environmental health home assessment, I found that although my home is not very old in age, I still found other issues.  Fortunately, my home is not too old to worry about lead and it does not have a basement. However, the home does include a gas hot water heater, fireplace, gas stove and smoke detector all inside the home. It is important to know the age of the home due to the amount of possible lead and other possible chemicals that were used during the building of the home. It is also important to know if someone is living or exposed to a basement due to the amount of possible mold and paint peeling and the exposure to this. I was surprised to learn about the candle exposure, I usually have a candle on throughout the week. It is the owners responsibility to assure the home is free of environmental health risks.
