Health News Week #12

The Food and Drug Administration has issued about 40 warnings to retail and online stores to stop the illegal sale of Juul to children. They specifically targeted 7-eleven locations, shell gas stations, and Cumberland farm convenient stores as well as all vaping shops. This comes after months of complaints from parents, schools, and politicians. The Juul is a device that turns liquid into inhalable vapor that usually contains nicotine. Due to the high popularity of these produces it has proven that they are more likely to try cigarettes after the vaping. In order to help decrease this, the FDA is now placing a mandatory regulation.

  1. I understand how vaping can be a better alternative to those who are already smoking cigarettes, but it is not a good product for kids to use who are not smoking cigarettes. I'm glad that steps are being taken to prevent or make it more challenging for kids to get ahold of these devices. Smoking is terrible for us and preventing vaping is another step to prevent kids from smoking.
