12.9 Climate Change
Climate change continues to be an ongoing struggle going on today. The most concerning and troubling part for me personally is that some don’t even believe this is a problem and issue that affects us. As a public health professional the greatest attention right now is how our natural resources are being affected. Our resources will run out if they are not addressed now, for example emissions and air quality. In China, the air quality is so ridiculous they are not allowed to leave at specific times during the day when the air quality is worse to prevent illness and lung issues. In fear that that will happen all over the world with time if it is not addressed now when we may still have the capabilities to keep it under control. If I was visiting a long-lost relative who did not know about climate change I would describe it talking about polar bears and their soon to be empty home without ice and that may cause their extinction. The melting of the ice means that certain species will no longer be able to survive. This harms our human health by damaging food and sources along with the increase in storms that affects our medical health, food and possible consequences from a big storm.
