8.4 Chemical Policy Reform
Considering the elements we identified in our small groups, the Louisville Charter utilizes “Require Comprehensive Safety Data for All Chemicals” in our groups we identified the importance of companies making sure to list all ingredients to assure the safety of all ingredients to help reduce the exposure to hazardous chemicals. Just as the charter identifies comprehensive safety as a data for all chemicals listed and known in the substances. They also utilize the “Give the Public and Workers the Full Right-to-Know and Participate” this is used to assure all workers and the public make decisions on their overall involvement with chemicals, although our group did not specifically address this topic, it plays a role with the previous topic to assure those working with certain chemicals and exposures are aware of their actual dangers and give them the right to decide their overall involvement with the chemicals and how they may or may not cause harmful side effects from the substances.
